My real estate career began in 1973 in Sandy, Oregon, working alongside Phil Johsrud — an exceptional mentor who shaped the foundation of my career. In those early days, we specialized in unimproved property, operated with far fewer regulations, and truly ran a one-stop office. We prepared our own deeds, closed our own transactions, and handled every step of the process. That hands-on start gave me a deep technical understanding of property — and yes, with a little patience, I can still write a metes and bounds legal description.
As my career progressed, I joined Chuck Baker Realty, where I had the privilege of working with Chuck Baker and Bill Richardson. From them, I refined the art of prompt service, strong client communication, and skilled negotiation — principles that continue to guide my work today.
Over the years, I’ve owned my own company, worked with Marcus Realty, and eventually returned to office ownership. I founded Century 21 Exclusive Homes and later Windermere Sandy, where I proudly operated for 25 years. When the time came to consider retirement or a transition, the long-term agents I had worked alongside encouraged me to continue — which led to the formation of Exclusive Homes Real Estate, an independent firm built on experience, integrity, and local knowledge.
In 1985, I expanded into construction, founding Exclusive Homes Construction. Through remodeling government housing, building new homes, flipping properties, developing subdivisions, and dividing land, I gained a practical understanding of the structural and land components of real estate — including septic systems, drain fields, wells, and site development.
After more than five decades in the industry, I still enjoy the challenge of bringing people together. I believe that when both parties genuinely want to buy or sell, there is always a path forward — and the best outcomes are those where everyone feels they have won.
In recent years, I’ve partnered with Ashley Haerr, a Principal Broker and former educator whose strong technology skills, attention to detail, and transaction expertise help ensure smooth, well-managed closings. She also works closely with buyers and hosts open houses, making our team both experienced and forward-thinking.
